Happy new year! Here at AccessAble, our aim is to provide detailed access information to venues to take the chance out of going out. As you plan your upcoming travel and holidays for the year ahead, we're thrilled to announce a new partnership with TUI.
Travelling with a disability can be a massive challenge which may be multiplied many times over for many of us when travelling abroad. Who wants to risk spending two weeks where you can't get to the pool or where dining options are inaccessible? That's why we are so delighted and so grateful that TUI have taken the lead in commissioning AccessAble Detailed Access Guides to 200 hotels across 12 countries. And it's just the start!
TUI UK&I Director of Customer Experience Sue Bradley said: “TUI takes over six million UK holidaymakers away each year and accessible holiday bookings have grown by 56% since 2022. We want to make travel easy and enjoyable for all our customers, but we know when it comes to planning, it can be a stressful experience for some.
“This can be especially true for those with access needs, who rely on the hotel’s accessibility details being available before booking. Earlier this year we partnered with AccessAble and tasked them with the job of running accessibility surveys at 200 of our most popular hotels.
“Everyone’s access needs are unique to them and at TUI we know that hotel accessibility goes beyond ramps and lifts. It’s about capturing all those essential details so customers can make an informed decision when choosing the hotel that’s right for them.”
This ground-breaking partnership is the first of its kind for overseas hotels and this industry-leading approach has one simple key aim: to make travel easy for everyone, whatever their needs.
Gathering relevant accessibility information is no easy task so AccessAble has worked with over 1000 disability groups to ensure the Detailed Access Guides can be used by anyone, whatever their access needs may be.
All Detailed Access Guides to the first 200 hotels can be found at TUI.co.uk or by visiting AccessAble’s website, with a further 200 hotels due to be surveyed in 2024.
This service will enable many disabled people and their families to go on holiday with confidence.
Please spread the word because it has the potential to make a massive difference to many people's lives.
